Year 8 Revision
In their year 8 exam pupils will be tested on their knowledge of everything we have studied this year. This includes:

The end of year exam for year 8 will have two sections. Section 1 will be short answer questions, to which pupils should write one or two sentences. In section 2 pupils will choose one from a selection of essay questions.
Pupils will be revising in class by doing example questions. You can download them by clicking the buttons below:
- Political Ideologies: What are the ideologies of classic Liberalism, Conservatism and Marxism, and to what extent do they give us good guidelines for ruling society today?
- Religious Studies: What is God like? What do the six main religions believe about this?
- Theology: Can we prove the existence of God? How successful are Thomas Aquinas and William Paley? Do we need a logical argument in order to have faith in God?
- Epistemology: What is the difference between facts and opinions? How do we acquire knowledge? What can we know for sure about the world? Who has more persuasive answers to these questions: the rationalists (Descartes and Plato) or the empiricists (Locke)?
- Virtue Ethics: What did Aristotle think about Ethics, how have modern philosophers adopted these ideas, and how do they compare to other ethical systems we have studied (utilitarianism and deontology)?
