Revision for End of Year 7 Exams
In their year 7 exam pupils will be tested on their knowledge of everything we have studied this year. This includes:
Ethics: looking at J S Mill and Immanuel Kant, and their theories about the "right" thing to do in any situation
Feminism: Naomi Wolf arguing that the Beauty Myth oppresses women
Theology: Aquinas and Paley's arguments to prove the existence of God, and the Epicurean paradox about the problem of evil
Scepticism: Descartes' argument for scepticism
The end of year exam for year 7 will have two sections. Section 1 will be short answer questions, to which pupils should write one or two sentences. In section 2 pupils will choose one from a selection of essay questions. Pupils have revision packs that they have been completing in PPE lessons, which is full of notes that they should learn. The notes are colour coded - if pupils want to work mainly at remembering and understanding, they should learn the orange sections. If they want to work at apply they should think about the green sections, and if they want to really challenge themselves to analyse they should consider the blue sections.
